  • Our Journey

Chantel Runting was lucky enough to be born into a family of lifelong dancers, mentored by her mother, who was a dance teacher for nearly 40 years before retiring. Chantel began her dance career as young as two and a half years old under her mother’s loving guidance. Today, Chantel’s many years as a professional dancer has made her into a dynamic dance visionary with a deep passion for sharing the love of dance with others.

Chantel has a lifetime of dance training and experience to offer her students. Her experience, together with her confidence, vitality, and versatility, arms her with the perfect combination of attributes to pass these skills onto her student’s and watch them take those skills into their own lives.

As a professional dancer, she performed in America, England, Japan, Singapore, China, and all over Australia and New Zealand. These performances included commercial, corporate, cabaret and theatre productions, plus major sporting venues.

Soon after returning home, Chantel founded Southern Beat Productions and continues to be the driving force behind this thriving production company. Chantel has worked with an impressive roster of entertainers. She has choreographed for vocal artists Leo Sayer, Nathaniel Willemse, Zoe Badwi, Lady Hood, Heroes For Hire, from ‘The Voice’ Harrison Craig, Prinnie Stevens, Stan Walker, and Jackson Thomas.

Corporate clients have included Crown Casino, NBL, Myer, Kmart, Racing Victoria, Racing NSW, James Boags Premium, Lend Lease, Melbourne Storm. Chantel’s work has dominated at events and festivals, including: Fashion Aid, The Red Ball, The Grand Prix, Crown Christmas, The Melbourne Cup, The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, The Sacred Heart Charity Ball, The Elly Lukas Ball and The Fight Cancer Foundation Event, Campaign Living Grand, The Melbourne Awards, and the Midwinter Ball, among many others.

Chantel is thrilled to be back in Epping, teaching dance students of all ages. Watching her students grow into amazing dancers is what makes her excited to get out of bed each day and onto the dance floor!
